Nail reconstruction with form is used to lengthen the nail. During this procedure, the beautician or nail technician will give your nails the right shape and size, usually using a single-phase gel or acrylic.
The forms are placed on the underside of the nail, where the gel will then be applied to give it greater length. The gel hardens under UV lamps, and the forms are removed so that the nail can be further refined to the desired shape and any polish or decorations can be applied.
How do you reconstruct nails with nail form?
First, you'll need to gather the materials listed below. You can purchase the products you need separately, or you can use a nail reconstruction kit that contains everything you need.
Before seeing how it's done, remember that this treatment lasts four to five weeks, but obviously a lot depends on the stress the nails are subjected to: heavy manual work or the use of chemical products tend to shorten their lifespan.
You will need:
Cleaner
Highly viscous gel for monophasic or triphasic system
Cuticle oil
Graph paper
Lime
Enamels and other decorative materials
UV lamp
Primer
Procedure:
Disinfect and clean your hands. Nails should be free of any polish and must be perfectly clean before proceeding.
At this point, we can file or buffer the nail. This roughens it and allows for better adhesion during the reconstruction phase.
Make a first pass with the primer
Apply the paper under the nail, which must adhere perfectly, like a sort of extension of the nail itself, so no space between the nail and the paper.
Apply a layer of builder gel over the nail and over the form, up to the desired length. The single-phase method uses just one product, while the three-phase method uses a base gel before the builder gel. Let it dry under a lamp.
Repeat the same procedure for all fingers
Do another pass with the primer
Let the nails evaporate and cure in the oven with UV lamps.
Now apply the builder or the single-phase and process to polymerize and dry
Remove the paper and apply the gel to shape the nail and give it a rounded shape.
Apply a thin layer of colored gel or semi-permanent polish
Cure for about two minutes, or as directed by the gel you're using, degrease, and apply a layer of UV gel over the nail extension; again, cure for another two minutes.
At this point we can proceed to file and finish our nails, giving each one the desired shape and length.
Here are some tips for getting a perfect nail reconstruction with forms:
1 act with precision and pay attention to every step
2 do not do reconstructions and do not use gel on nails that have mycosis or flaking
3 avoid keeping the reconstruction for too long, take a break between one reconstruction and the next
